Snowman/men for Christmas Card Club

Good  morning.  Gosh these two weeks certainly come round quickly. The theme this time was chosen by ValeryAnne and she wants to see snowmen on our cards, either one or more.

Card # 1

Recipe
6" square white card base - Rymans
pink pearlescent card from stash
pink snowflake paper - Helz Cuppleditch
lacy squares - Spellbinders
stitched flags - Sue Wilson
shimmer gems - Hobbycraft
promarkers to colour
peel off sentiment (white but colored pink)

I have had this digi image a long time and use it a lot but I cannot remember where it is from. I decided to make my snowman a snow lady! I think she looks very pretty in pink. Judging from her smile she seems delighted to have a little friend with her.

Card # 2

Recipe
DL card base
red and black card - Rymans
digi image - Crafty Ribbons
promarkers to colour
peel off sentiment (white but coloured black)

I haven't made a DL card for years but this image definitely called for one.  I have had this image a few years and have never actually used it.  I bought it at the same time as I bought the matching ribbon.  I used the ribbon but not the digi.  I went onto the website to see if they still did it but unfortunately not.  They still have the digi but not the ribbon which is a shame because it is gorgeous. I decided to just add a dash of red to each of the snow people, rather than colouring them in totally, because I felt it made them pop.

Well that's it from for today.  The rest of the girls in our little club will be posting their cards tomorrow but I have a DT card tomorrow which is my reason for showing this ahead of time.

Take time and enjoy your weekend.

Anything Goes With Embossing at OSAAT

Good morning dear friends and fellow bloggers and if anybody has just landed here by mistake, or by just browsing the blogs, you are very welcome too.  Please leave a message to let me know you have been and if you have a blog I will visit you in return.

If you are looking for my CCC card please scoll down to the previous post.

Time for another challenge at One Stitch At a Time and this time you are being asked to use embossing, otherwise all options are open.  Since it is anything goes then it doesn't have to be a card, just be sure to use embossing on your project.

The image I have used is Stitcher Fae from BB Kakes and it can be found in our store here.

My Card

Recipe
6 " square easel card - using Papermania card stock
backing papers - free on Papercraft Inspiration web site
Embossing Folder Matelasse - Anna Griffin from Cuttlebug
Labels 16 dies - Spellbinders
tape measure ribbon - Crafty Ribbons
sewing embellishments - very ancient stash!
pink button - from stash
sentiment - computer generated

I pre-inked the border of my Labels 16 die so that it looks as if I have used a larger die to mat the image.  I would have liked to use anothe die to mat it but unfortunately I used the largest one to cut the image so this was my cheat method and it's very effective, particularly if you want to use fewer layers and therefore make it flatter for posting. Not so important for one off greeting cards I guess but certainly useful at Christmas! I also used the same method on the sentiment so they would be the same.

Well I certainly can't be accused of using monochrome this time - although I was the only one doing the accusing ... lol! There's certainly enough colours today albeit pastels, which I prefer to brights.

Please pop across to the blog and see what my teamies have made.  If you want to take part in our challenge  you could win $10 to spend in the store, so what are you waiting for?

Well that's it for today.  I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Pink And White Roses

Hello everybody.  Hope you are all well.  A little warmer today, thankfully, although rain is forecast later.  To be honest, unless it comes down and forgets to stop, I don't actually mind a little rain.  It all helps to keep our wells functioning!!

My Card

I folded white card stock to make a 7" x 5" card base. I ran some pink bazzill card stock through the Grand Calibur using SB M-Bossabilities Framed Petite Labels embossing folder. The roses are WOC and the white leaves are Cheery Lynn's Wreath Strip.  You have probably realised that I love this particular die - I certainly use it enough!  The spotted ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons, which I won from them last year, and the pearls are from Hobby House. The quality of the ribbon is superb. And there you have it.

See you all again soon - hopefully!
