Festive Gift/Gift Bag

Good morning and I hope this finds you well. Lorraine chose the theme this time for our group.

I made three gift bags for my nephew's children at Christmas and I showed one of them last month. I thought this would be an ideal time to show the other two.

My Projects

It's very easy to buy gift bags from a shop but his way they get something unique to them.

I used papers and toppers from Dovecraft "Winter Wonderland."  I also made matching envelopes to add a money gift.  As I said last time my sister always made up gift bags for her grandchildren  and so after we lost her I carried on the tradition. I fill them with lots of small gifts and sweets etc but give them money for their main gift. As growing kids I think it is much better for them to buy something they really want rather than end up with something totally unsuitable. I haven't had children myself so am totally unable gauge what they would want.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Anything But a Card at IAAS

Happy New Year to all my friends and fellow bloggers.  Hopefully you have enjoyed your Christmas time.If you celebrated New Year then I hope you enjoyed that too.  Me?  I went to bed! 😉😊😄

I chose the theme this time at IAAS and as you see  I went with "Anything but a Card."

My Project

For my great niece and great nephews  I decorated plain kraft gift bags. I used papers and toppers from Dovecraft "Winter Wonderland."  I also made a matching envelope to add a money gift.  My sister always made up gift bags for her grandchildren  and so after we lost her so suddenly a few years ago I took over the job so that the kids didn't miss out. They were all different so I will show the others in a later post.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out what the rest of the team made for this challenge?

Take care.

Anything But a Card for MAWTT

Good morning.  I've been chasing my tail this week and still haven't quite caught up with myself just yet. This card for MAWTT should have been posted yesterday so apologies to Diane Louise and my team mates.

My Project

I haven't made one of these bags for quite a few years and it took me a while to remember the measurements for the gusset. The cardstock is from an old First Edition pad. I use Spellbinders Grand Labels 11 dies and SB Oval dies to cut out the handle. The large butterfly die is an old Marianne die and I cannot remember where the two smaller ones are from.  The ribbon is from my stash.

Why not pop over to  the blog  and see what the rest of the team have made?

Well that's all from me today.

Take care and happy crafting.

IAAS Final Post for 2019

Good morning.  Today is our final challenge for 2019 at IAAS and it is "Anything But a Card".  This challenge will actually last for four weeks which means the DT can enjoy a break over Christmas, but we will be back in the New Year.

My Project

This is a very large bucket type bag measuring 12" tall x 7" wide and the base is 7" x 4". It closes with a velcro dot. You can get a very large gift in here - or lots of little ones. To look at you really wouldn't think it was made from cardstock,. The card stock is from a pad from The Works and only cost £3 so very good value for money. I made this from a tutorial on Mixed Up Crafts and I really love it.  I think I will be hard pressed to pass this on to somebody when the time comes.

These are the sort of projects I used to make for my sister Jeanie because I knew she would love and appreciate them as I did.  She really was my number one fan! Just another reason why I miss her so much.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out the projects from the rest of the DT.  I know you won't be disappointed.

Well that's all from me. I hope you are getting on well with your cards and gifts.  I have my cards to write and a few special ones to make and just a couple of gifts to buy but we are off to do the last minute Christmas shopping on Tuesday and then if I have missed anything it will be too late ... lol! I actually thought I had finished but we will be visiting my nephew and his family on Boxing Day and there will be other people there I will need to give something to, but nothing too big or fancy.

Take care.
