Stars for the Christmas Card Club

Good morning.  I am very early with my card, which is not actually due until Sunday. However over the next few days I have three DT cards to post so I decided to post this early rather than late. Sylvie chose the theme this time and she wants to see stars on our cards.  I've only got one - but in my defense it is a big one ... lol! 😇

My Card

Recipe
6" base card - made from Hobbycraft linen card
red glitter card - recycled from a received Christmas card
sentiment die - Sue Wilson
pierced stars die - Spellbinders
gems from stash

I have been struggling since Christmas because I think my mojo stayed behind in 2019 instead of moving into the new year.  I decided on a CAS card which I think is very effective. I cut a top layer and die cut a star from it, adhered the glitter card behind and then attached to the base card with foam pads.  All that remained was to add the sentiment and a few sparkly gems and that was it.  I actually really like it but I think next time I will use a smaller star die.

Anyway, I hope this finds you all well and keeping warm.  I am still not totally well.  I tend to have a day when I feel great followed by a couple when I feel the exact opposite.  Still, it's in the right direction!

Take care and enjoy your day.

I decided to try and take part in Scrappy Mo's Rudolph Challenge this year.

Recycling at International Art and Soul

Good morning.  It is a very white world this morning - frost, not snow I hasten to add - so it will be staying indoors beside the fire keeping warm today; not that I had any plans to go anywhere ...lol!

The theme at IAAS this time is recycling.  I have used two of the Christmas cards I received this Christmas and merged then into one.  I always say that I will do this but don't often get round to it.  However, already hthis year I have recycled three cards so I'm feeling petty pleased with myself.  I only recycle bought cards - the handmade ones from my crafty friends are kept separately.

Please scroll down to previous post if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club Card.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" base card
gold edged cream card - recycled
blue and gold topper recycled
peel off greeting

The cream card is fairly thin cardstock so I adhered it to a base card which then made quite a sturdy card. The gold sparkle edge looks lopsided but it is obviously the way I took the photograph because it is level in real life.

Why not pop across to the blog and see what my teamies have come up with.  Some of them have been very adventurous!

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

The Holly and the Ivy for Christmas Card Club

Good morning.  Time for our little club to make another card in our quest to making our lives simpler by making our Christmas cards all year round.  I am a day early posting this card because I have a another DT card due tomorrow and I don't like to post twice on the same day.

I usually try to make more than one card so that my stash mounts up but I have had a nasty flu-type virus for the last two weeks and I am still unwell so only one card today.

Our host is Elizabeth and she wants to see Holly and/or Ivy.  My image shows both.

My Card

Recipe

Notched square corner dies - Crafts Too
green card - from stash
pearls - Tonic Nuvo Drops

I really like the CAS effect of this  card so decided that less is more and here it is.

If you want to check out the rest of CCC cards you will find their blogs on my sidebar.

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

An Old Fashioned Christmas

Goo morning.  It is time for the mid month challenge from the Merry Maidens in the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.  I am actually one of the Sleigh Belles team and we post on the first of the month, but due to circumstance I wasn't able to post at that point so I have joined in with the Merry Maidens.

If you want the chance to win this month's featured paper pack, be sure to create a card that features VINTAGE items whether in your choice of image, papers, embellishments or all three. However, you don't have to follow the vintage twist to be in with a chance to win a prize from Lunagirl, our sponsor.

My Card

Recipe
6"square white base card
Snowflake backing paper  - DDDoodles
turquoise glitter card - hobbycraft
image - Blue Christmas from Lunagirl
snowflake die - Marianne Creatables

I love how the colours marry up so beautifully. If you go over to the blog you will see the rules of the challenge and also get some inspiration from my teamies.

Take care, and happy crafting.

Angels or Fairies at Christmas Card Club.

Good morning and welcome to my blog today  Hopefully you are all feeling well and not suffering from any bugs that might be around.. I have posted three times this week and two have been Christmas cards ... lol!  Good start for my collection. I decided that I would go through my received cards and see what I could rescue for recycling and this is from one of those cards.

My Card

Recipe
6" square white base card
turquoise card  - Hobbycraft
pink card from stash
recycled image
Noble Pierced Squares  dies - Sue Wilson
Dainty Dots e/f - Spellbinders
Virtuoso music die - memory Box

This is such a sweet image that it would have been a sin to put it in for recycling.  All I did was add some gold glitter to the halos and stars and job done. The colours of the papers were perfect too.

Well, that's all for today.

 Take care.

All Things New at MAWTT

Happy New Year to all my crafty friends and followers!

Welcome to our first challenge of the year at MAWTT Changes are afoot and we now will be posting only once a month on the first day of the month.  Teams A and B have merged to make one design team.

Our first challenges, hosted by Amy, is All Things New.  I have chosen  a New Home card.  I don't know anybody who is moving house  ... lol - but it will be useful to have in the box. This theme covers a wide range - new baby, new home, new life, new job etc etc.

My Card

Recipe

5"x7" white base card
brown card to mat - from stash
striped paper - a snippet from my box
blue paper - also a snippet
oval nestabilities - Spellbinders
sentiment - computer generated
ribbon - from stash

This could easily be changed out for any occasion with a different sentiment so it is a useful card to CASE.

Pop across to the blog and see what the DT have made for the challenge.

Take care
