Christmas Carol For CCC

Good morning to you all.  We have had a couple of reasonable days and yesterday was warm and sunny Yay!!  Will it last is the question?   It's almost June, for goodness sake, so it's about time the sun made up it's mind to stick around!!

As usual I am a day early in posting my card. This week it is Rita's turn to choose the theme for the Christmas Card Club and her choice is to base our card on a Christmas Carol.  Great stuff.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" card base made from green card stock in stash
gold linen card - really ancient stash
image - Christmas tree Collage - Our Daily Bread Designs
Promarkers to colour

Extremely simple and extremely flat!  I livened it up a bit with the gold card.  I also added gold glitter to the star and candles on the tree and after colouring the baubles red I added glossy accents to make them shine.

Well that's all from me today. Hope everybody is well.

Take care.

Non-Traditional Colours

Good morning to you all.  It's time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland and it is my turn to choose the theme.  I have chosen Non-Traditional Colours, as you can see. Until the last year or so I never used the traditional reds and greens for my Christmas cards.  I just love something different.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card
purple pearlescent cardstock - Jellybean Crafts
Starry backing paper - freebie from Bearly Mine but colour digitally altered.
Pierced Noble Squares - Sue Wilson
Marvellous Squares - Spellbinders
Christmas Stars - Signature dies from Joanna Sheen
Pearls from stash
Sentiment - computer generated

Our sponsor for this challenge is Crafts and Me and Theresa is offering an £8 voucher to spend in store.  Please pop across to the blog and check out what the rest of the Snowflake team have made.  Perhaps it will inspire you to join us.

We have been having some lovely weather and I have been spending quite a bit of time in the garden tidying things up and sorting out my pots etc. Mind you, we have also had some pretty cold days and Wednesday poured with rain in the morning although eased off a little later. It was a shame because we were having a fund raising Tea and Cakes in the Village Hall raising funds for our WI centenary early next year. Considering the weather we didn't do too badly, and lots of mums brought the kids straight from school which added to the numbers.

Hope you are all keeping well and enjoying life.  Another weekend on the horizon so I hope you have something good planned.

Take care!

Hot Colours At OSAAT

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers.  Thanks for stopping by. It's time for challenge # 262  at One Stitch At A Time.  The challenge is Anything Goes With Hot Colours. Now I am definitely not one for hot colours or bright colours.  Ask for pastels or purples and I'm your girl!  So as you can imagine I did have a bit of a struggle.  I'm not totally happy, but it is what it is I'm afraid!

Please scroll down to the previous post if you are looking for my CCC card.

CCC Snowy Trees

Good morning to you all and I hope it finds you all well. Thanks for dropping by. This is my card for our Christmas Card Club, which is not actually due until tomorrow, but since I have another DT card due then I am posting a day earlier as I normally do.  The theme this week is Snowy Trees and it was my choice. We take it in turn to choose the theme which makes it interesting.

My Card

Inside Card

Recipe
6" x 6" base card
Duotone blue card - Penniesworth
Background paper - "Snowboarder Girl" from The Paper Shelter
Pierced Noble Rectangles - Sue Wilson
Icicle die - Joycrafts
Frosted Spruce & Frosted Pine dies - Memory Box
Sentiment stamp - Inkylicious

I added glitter to the background trees and Twinklets Diamond Dust to the die cut trees. I put some sellotape across the bottom of the stamp which allowed me to just stamp the word "Winter".  For the inside of the card I used the same background paper but faded it.  I then moved the sellotape so that it covered the word Winter and was then able to stamp the second part of the stamp for the insert.

This was such an easy card to make but I really like it.  It could also be used for a winter/Christmas  birthday I guess.  I had a friend whose birthday was Boxing Day and he rarely got birthday cards, which is such a shame.

Anyway that's all from me today.

Take care.

MAWTT - MAN OR BOY

Good morning.  Thanks for dropping by today.  Hope you are all well.  Before I go on to my post for today I just want to say a few words about my wonderful parents.  Today they would have  been celebrating their 90th birthdays - rather unusual to have exactly the same date of birth.  They met the day they  started primary school and the rest, as they say, is history. So together with mum's twin brother I think the three of them will be having a wonderful party up in heaven! I wish they were here to be able to celebrate with them!

Today it is time for another challenge at Moving Along With The Times. The theme is man or boy and was chosen by Wendy who is our leader and also our host this time.

My Card

Recipe
6" square Kraft card base - Hobbycraft
Navy pearlescent card stock - Brothersleep
Image  - LOTV Art Pad "Vintage Boys"
DSP - LOTV Paper Pad "Father Knows Best"
Banner Die - Joanna Sheen Signature die
Hessian - from stash
Card Candi - Craftwork Cards
Sentiment - computer generated

I made a right hash of this! It all came together so easily and it was made in no time.  Then I tried to open it!!! - I had only attached everything upside down!  Grrr!  The only thing I could do was cut off the back and then add a hinge to make a tent fold card.  What a wally!

Please pop across to the blog and see what the rest of the design team have come up with. Perhaps you will be inspired us to join us!

Take care.

Anything But A Card at Winter Wonderland.

Good morning and hope you are all well. We had a great day out yesterday when we visited a National Trust property Kinver Edge Rock Houses in Staffordshire.  We have been before but not for a few years so we really enjoyed it.  These were the last rock houses to be inhabited and the last people only moved out in the 1960's.  Fascinating. The weather was glorious so we also had a walk up Kinver Edge,

It is time for another Winter Wonderland challenge.  Our hostess is Eileen and the theme she has chosen is "Anything But A Card".  I made quite a few of these tea light holders last December to sell at our WI Christmas Fayre but totally forgot to photograph them so I decided tomake another one now and remedy the situation.  Of course, remember to use a battery operated tea light - you don't want to set the place on fire ... lol!
My Project.

Recipe
Heartfelt Creations - Decorative lace border
Spellbinders - Lacy Circles
Sue Wilson - Trailing Ivy die
Wild Orchid Crafts - Poinsettia
Ribbon - Fantastic Ribbons

Please pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have made and perhaps you might decide to join in with us. But please remember Christmas projects only!

We have two sponsors this time. First is Di's Digi Stamps who will be giving $12 to spend in store. The second sponsor is Marianne Designs who will be sending the winner a super surprise.  How exciting!

The weekend is coming up - yet again - so quickly! I hope you have something exciting planned.

Take care.

Two Very Different Angels for CCC

Good morning.  I am very late for my club card this time.  Usually I am a day early and now I am actually two days late.

Card 1

Recipe
6" square card base
red card - Rymans
DP - Papermania - Home For Christmas
Crafts Too snowflake embossing folder
Marvellous Squares die - Spellbinders
Snow flake die - SB Create-a-Flake 4 or 5(was already cut)
Little Ivy stamp - LOTV
sentiment stamp - magazine freebie ages ago
pearls from stash.
Promarkers to colour.

No matter what I did it was impossible to see that the white card at the left side was embossed with snowflakes! Just had to glitter on her wings - all angels need a bit of glitter.

Card 2

My second card was computer generated and is one layer.  I was quite pleased with myself that I managed to merge everything and even got the colours to fade.  This will be for a friend who is a devout Roman Catholic and I know this is the only type of Christmas card she would appreciate. Unfortunately there appears to be a line showing through the side of the card which is not on the actual card so perhaps the camera picked up something I'm not aware of.

Well the sun is shining here although it is very nippy still.  Hope you had a good Bank Holiday weekend.

Take care!

Lavender And Lace For Grandma

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers. I don't seem to have a  great deal of time to spend on the computer and in Blogland, at the moment, but when I get a few minutes I keep popping in. I have also had a problem with my computer  when my virus software detected a threat.  It isolated/closed down my search engine and a couple of other programmes that I use on a regular basis to contain the threat.  I was starting to panic a bit!  However, all is well again and it dealt with  the threat and I'm up and running again. Phew!

OSAAT has another challenge starting today and the theme is "Anything Goes With Vintage." I am using "Grandma's Cookies" from Digi Blessings. This image comes with a sentiment too but I chose not to use it this time. I was thinking this would make a nice Christmas card and the sentiment is "Grandma's never run out of hugs or cookies."
