Clean and Simple for Christmas Card Club

God morning and it's time for another card for our little club and, as you see, the theme this time is Clean and Simple. I made two very CAS cards and am quite pleased with them

Card # 1

This is an A6 and was made with ivory linen cardstock.

Card # 2

This one is 6" square and made with plain white cardstock. I used my scoreboard to score the lines.

Take care and enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend.

CAS for International Art and Soul

Good morning.  The theme this week at IAAS is CAS. I have an extremely simple card to show for my DT card today.  I somehow mixed up my challenges and realised this morning that I had made my card to fit the next challenge.  Luckily the theme is CAS because  was able to make my card extremely quickly.

If you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card please scroll down to previous card.

 My Card

The longest part of making this card was the time in locating the embossing folder I wanted to use. It is absolutely donkey's years since I used it.  It's an old Cuttlebug folder and the embossing is amazing.  It is so deep it is like the current 3D embossing folders that are popular now but in those days 3D folders hadn't even been thought of.  The stamp is from the Nitwit Collection "Bloom With Grace" from Crafter's Companion.

Why not pop over tot he blog and check out the cards from my team mates?

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Christmas Card Club - Baubles/Decorations

Good morning and hope this finds you well.  It's time for another challenge for our ladies in the Christmas Card Club. Today we are dedicating our posts to one of our dear friends, Shaz, who chose this theme but very sadly passed away in February. We miss her lovely posts and all the information she gave us on her blog. Rest in peace Shaz. Our thoughts are with her husband Doug.

My Card

I have made a set of six CAS cards using pre-coloured images from Fred She Said. I printed them onto linen card stock, diecut them using Presscut Stitch and Dot rectangles before mounting them onto linen card bases. I used peel off greetings (remember them? 😀😃) on the first three but decided to stamp sentiments onto the last three cards when my eyes are totally back to normal otherwise I risk wonky stamping which would ruin the look totally.

I am really pleased with the look of these.  Perhaps I'll be doing more CAS cards since they are ideal at Christmas when there are so many to make.

Have a lovely weekend. According to the forecast here in the UK (but can we believe that!!) we are in for a heatwave over the next ten days.

Take care.

Anything Christmas Goes at Winter Wonderland.

Good morning .  Time for another challenge here at Winter Wonderland.

Today's challenge is a tribute to Eileen, the former owner and coordinator of the Winter Wonderland Challenge, who sadly passed away suddenly at the beginning of 2017. We decided to continue the blog in  her honour.

Our sponsor this month is Fred She Said.

My Card

This is an A6 card made from white linen card stock. The image is Colourful Christmas Ornaments and this is one of the pre-coloured images.  I have actually made a set of six with different baubles.

I CASED this card from Kath, a blog friend, who makes the most wonderful CAS cards. Just click on her name to see her cards.

We would love to see you take part in our challenge. So why not get a head start on your Christmas cards this year?

Take care.

At Winter Wonderland it's Hip to be Square

Good morning. It's time for a new challenge at Winter Wonderland and as you can see the theme is Hip to be Square which means we want to see square cards.  How easy could that be? Our sponsor is Fred She Said.

My Card

Recipe
6"square white base card - Rymans
green card stock - from stash
Noble Pierced Squares - Sue Wilson
sentiment die - Sue Wilson
Promarkers

I decided to keep my card CAS and I'm so glad I did because I really like it.  I just added a dash of colour with Promarkers on the pine sprays and bottoms of the pinecones.  Apart from adding the sentiment I did nothing else. My husband caught sight of it and said it looks classy.  Quite a compliment from him.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out the inspiration from the DT which may tempt you to join in our challenge. Please remember we are a Christmas challenge only so as well as being square your card must be a Christmas card.

Take care.

Out of Sight

Good morning and hope this finds you all well. This is another card I have sent to my sister.  My plan had been to ensure she had a card on the same day each work so there was something for her to look forward to .  However, the change in postal services means that is not quite possible now.  She does get her card every week but never on the same day, even though I post them at the same time. She does receive it though, which is the main objective, and she is always thrilled.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 4.25" card - made from linen card.
paper - scraps from my box
sentiment - computer generated
Nuvo drops on flower centres

A very CAS card.  I computer generated the sentiment twice on to a piece of landscape linen card stock then cut it in half, giving me two cards. I then just added the paper to the left side with a toning border.  Very simple but looks quite effective, and gives a nice message.

Because it was so easy I then decided to do the same one for the vulnerable ladies in my WI. I just used various papers and sometimes added a paper border and on  others I decided to use up some of the peel off borders which have been in my stash since Adam was a boy!

Well that's it for today. Stay safe and well.

Black and White

Good morning and time for another challenge at Moving Along With The Times.  Debbie has chosen the theme and she wants to see "Black and White".  I decided to go with a CAS card.

My Card

Recipe
Linen Card Stock - Hobbycraft
Black glossy card stock - Hunkydory
Small Circle Burst die - Memory Box
Poppy die - Sue Wilson
Sentiment- Computer generated

This really is a CAS card but I must say I like it. I always used to keep adding stuff to CAS cards but I think I have now trained myself and sometimes I think less really is more.

Why not pop across to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have made with the black and white theme?

Take care and happy crafting!

CAS at International Art And Soul

Good morning and Happy Mothering Sunday to all the mums amongst you.  I hope you are being spoiled today.

If you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card please scroll down to previous post.

Another challenge at International Art and Soul where we take it in turns to choose the theme. It's Maggie's choice this time and she has chosen CAS using blue.

My Card

Recipe
White linen card stock - Hobbycraft
Blue pearlescent card - Jelly bean Craft
prim Poppy die - Memory Box
Tessatina border die - memory Box
Sentiment die - Sue Wilson

I chose to use linen card to counter  the effect of so much white space.  Although in reality it looks great unfortunately it is not discernible in the photograph so you'll have to take my word for it.

Another quick post from me.

Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Cats or Dogs at IAAS

Well, this is quite a start to the New Year four cards in a row!! Today is my DT card for International Art and Soul where Jane chose the theme.

Please scroll down to my previous post if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card.

My Card

5" x 7" base card - blue leather effect card from stash
red card - Rymans

pearls from stash

Yet another CAS card.  I computer generated the sentiment and border of stars to match the party dogs cool glasses. I just couldn't resist this image; it really made me smile.

Why not click on the link and find out what my teamies have decided to do with their cats and dogs.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Buttons and Bows

Good morning and I hope you are all managing to keep warm in these very low temperatures. Not forgetting the snow in the north of England and Scotland.

Yesterday evening I suddenly realised that I had a DT card due for International Art and Soul and I hadn't actually made one.  Panic stations!! Well, 15 minutes later I finished this very CAS card - and that time included computer generating the sentiment!  I have never made one this quickly  and I'm sure it will never happen again.

My Card

Recipe
5" square scalloped card
patterned paper - I think it's a scrap of LOTV
ribbon - another scrap
button - my button box

It's amazing what you can do if you try  Certainly not my usual style, but at least I managed it in time.
Why not pop over to the blog and see what my teamies have come up with - all far superior to mine I can assure you!!

Well take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.  I think my day will be spent round the fire!

Variation On A Theme

Hello friends and fellow bloggers.  Sorry I have not been around much this week, with no cards to show. However, just like buses you wait for ages then two along at the same time!  I have used the same dies and colours as on a previous post last week but just varied them slightly.

My Cards

Click on image to enlarge pictures

Firstly the cards are 6 x 6 inches, whereas the last one was 7 x 5.  My intention was to make one card.  I started out by die cutting my Cuttlebug flowers and attaching them to red card stock. I then die cut the MB Tessatina border twice and the SB Borderabilities Bracket Border One.  Now it just became  too fussy so I cut another piece of white card stock,  but this time just using one of the edgers and leaving out the decorative insert.

For the second card, since I had already die cut the white card sock with an edge and a decorative insert, I omitted the Tessatina borders and computer generated a sentiment instead.  Using white satin ribbon  from my stash I wrapped it around and added a bow to each card, and finished them off with pearls from my stash.

So two very simple cards today which, while not exactly CAS, do  look quite "clean".  I am really starting to like the CAS look to cards.

I apologise for the wonky pictures but when I tried to retake them it was too dark.

Hope you are all looking forward to the weekend.  It doesn't seem two minutes since it was last Friday!!

CAS One Layer Card - CCC Challenge

Good morning. Today's card is for the Christmas Card Club challenge. It was Zoe's choice this time and she chose Clean and Simple One Layer card.

My Card

I don't think I could have made it any more CAS. I stamped my image - with fear and trepidation!!!- directly onto a 6x6 scalloped card. I used Pearlescent Lavender ink and then heat embossed with crystal embossing powder. Unfortunately the picture isn't showing that. I then used a glue pen on the leaves and sprinkled with ultra fine crystal glitter. The ribbon from my stash was bought at the local haberdashery store and the purple shimmer dots are Papermania. The stamp is Three Trees by Denami  Stamps, which I have had for many years.

Although it is very different to my usual style of Christmas card I'm not unhappy with it - although I don't think I will be doing too many of them.

There is a list of my teamies on my right sidebar so you can check out what the others have done with the challenge. It will be interesting.

Enjoy the rest of your long weekend. Since I retired I forget about Bank Holidays - all weekends are long to me! Lol! For you ladies who are still working I'm sure you will be looking forward to it. The weather is great today so definitely a day for cycling.

Love and hugs from Christine xx

Two Minute Card

Hi, hope you are all having a good weekend so far. The weather is very strange - sunny spells and hail stone showers! A very quick card and post today.

My Card

The little flower pots are something else I found whilst sorting through stuff . (It's's never-ending!)

I computer generated the sentiment onto a piece of hammered card stock, cut it down to a square and added the flower pots with foam tape. Voila! Card complete!

Well I'd better get back to work. Still a few album pages to finish and the clearing is ongoing!! I'm trying to remember why I thought it was a good idea to do it!!

Cameo Lady

Good afternoon my dear blog friends, and a warm welcome to my new followers. Thank you for deciding to follow me. If you leave a comment then I will be able to return the favour and visit your blog too.

Today I have a quick post and a very quick card to show.

My Card

I found this sheet of cameo images when I was looking through some "stuff" last night. I cut out one of the images and then the hat from another and decoupaged the hat, although that isn't showing at all in the picture. I glued it directly to the card, added the spotted grosgrain ribbon and a couple of gems. Voila! I had to resist the urge to do something else with it, but I must admit that I like the CAS look of this card. Makes a nice change.

Well the sun is shining although it is still bitterly cold out there. Great time for crafting.

Love and hugs from Christine xx
