12 Months of Christmas LinkUp

Hello friends,I do hope this finds you all well.

My card today is my DT card for the 12 Months of Christmas LinkUp.  We missed the February and March LinkUp because Lisa, our blog leader, was very poorly for quite some time with an extremely nasty virus. However, we are here now and Lisa is well on the mend.

Our theme, as always, is ANYTHING GOES CHRISTMAS (or in celebration of other December holidays). If you want to challenge yourself, you can always follow our optional twist of CHRISTMAS CANDY. For example, you could add add candy canes, peppermints, or any other type of candy you might find during the holiday season.

Keep in mind though, that you don't need to follow the twist to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month or for a chance to win your choice of TWO Christmas or Winter themed mini kits of digital papers from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles. Following the twist is simply for fun and to challenge yourself if you'd like.

Christmas Crackers for Christmas Card Club

Today's challenge is Christmas Crackers although we always have the "Anything Goes" option if we don't have anything suitable for the challenge.  I do like to follow the theme if possible but I thought I was going to have to give in because I searched through all my images but didn't find anything suitable.  Then I had a lightbulb moment! I have just made a cracker treat box so I decided to show this instead.  Not a Christmas card,  I know, but still pertinent to the challenge.

My Project

I have had this Tonic Studios set of dies for a number of years and haven't used it for years either. I stopped buying Tonic dies because they are so expensive  I decided they didn't warrant the expense, even though the finished items are lovely. The two pieces just slide aside to reveal the gift inside.  The poinsettia and leaves are from John Next Door.

I't's  decent size so can get a reasonable gift/goodies inside.

Take care.

Snowglobes for Christmas Card Club.

The theme for  Challenge # 21 is Snowglobes and has been chosen by Gwen.

My Card

I have used a Snowglobe die from The Works.  These dies are a very reasonable price and cut beautifully.

I used a sentiment die from Sue Wilson and the trees are from John Next Door. Very flat for posting - always a bonus at Christmas.

I hope you are all well and enjoying this lovely autumnal weather.  It is really weird because my geraniums in the pots at the front of the house are all in full bud again and just about to bloom. Very strange weather indeed.

Another challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas LinkUp

Hi, I'm afraid I'm a little late with my DT card for the LinkUp. As always the challenge is Anything Goes but there is also a twist which you can follow if you like to give yourself a bit of challenge.  In honour of the rich vibrancy of October, the challenge is to use one or more of the following colours in your design: INTENSE ORANGES, DEEP REDS, RICH BROWNS, WARM GREENS, VIVID PURPLES.

My Card

I chose to use shades of green as my signature colour with mirror card being the most dominant and giving that warm glow. I used John Next Door's Christmas Wreath Twig die set.  My card is a 6" square base card and I just added some cream poinsettias to lift it. The stamped sentiment is from Two Jays and stamped with pine green ink.

Why not pop across to the blog and check out the cards by the other Sleigh Belles and then on the 15th drop by again and check out the work of the Merry Maidens.  We would love to see you enter the challenge.

Take care.

Fancy Fold Card for Christmas Card Club

Good morning. It's time for another card for our club and this time I chose the theme which is to show a fancy fold card.

My Card 1

I have made a bridge  card but put a full sheet of acetate at the front give it strength which then made it into more of a diorama card. When folded down it measures 8" x 6". I used paper pad from The Works called "Snowy Christmas" which I bought last year.

Card 2

I made a 7" easel card using papers from the same pad and added some JND snowflakes

I thought  I was going to be unable to post because on Thursday my computer was attacked by a virus which added a trojan and has completed wiped out my computer!! I cannot even open it. Luckily I still have my very old Windows 7 computer from when I upgraded to Windows 10 with a new computer. John has set it up again for me this morning so I can use Blogger, gmail etc at least. He has removed the hard disc from my machine and has been working on it for the past couple of days but it appears to be kaput. Sadly I have not saved the last couple of years work to my external hard disc so I have lost all my photos, pictures, digi images etc.  Please, please do  be sure to save your work on a regular basis to an external source. Luckily all my documents were saved elsewhere - initially I was in a real panic because I am secretary of our WI and have masses of stuff on my computer!!

Hope you are well  and having a better time than me!!😀😄

Love and hugs

Christine

Poinsettias for Christmas Card Club

It's unbelievable how quickly these two weeks pass. It's time for another challenge and this time it is to use poinsettias on our cards.

My Card

Like my card last time this again is slightly smaller than A5. I used the frame from John Next Door's "Jane's Tree". The poinsettias and ivy leaves are also from JND. the sentiment die and the embossed centre are from Creative Expressions.  It came together very quickly but looks fine although difficult to photograph because of the silver mirror card.

I hope those of you in the UK have enjoyed the few last days of summer we had. Yesterday it rained quite a lot here but I don't mind- it helps to keep my well and water butts topped up. However today was again warm and sunny but I think that might be the last of summer.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Christmas Card Club - Layers

Good morning and here is another card for the Christmas Card Club.  The theme this time is "Lots of Layers" and it was chosen by Lorrraine.

My Card

My card is almost, but not quite, an A5 card but I chopped a bit off the side for symmetry. As you can see there are certainly plenty of layers .

I used matte and mirror silver card stock, from Crafter's Companion, which makes it very difficult to photograph but at least it doesn't look black which sometimes happens.

Dies used: John Next Door - Frame from Calling Angels and snowflakes are Baroque Snowflakes.

Presscut- Notched Rectangles

Sue Wilson - Let it Snow die.

The weather has been quite autumnal for the last few days. I do hope you are all well and enjoying life.

Take care.

Summer Fun at MAWTT.

It's time for another challenge at MAWTT and there is a choice of theme. I went with Summer Fun but you could also choose Summer Colours - Orange& Yellow.

My Card

This is 6" base card made from green card stock from Limetree Crafts. The image is from the Paper Shelter and matted with cream and brown card.I computer generated the sentiment and then just added some leaves from John Next Door.

Why not pop across to the blog and you may be inspired to join in the challenge. The DT members have used both themes so there is plenty to inspire you.

Take care and enjoy your day.

Red, White and Blue at IAAS

Good morning, and yet another post which is week overdue - same reason as yesterday. But even worse - the theme was chosen by me! My head is hanging in shame! I chose this theme because, as our name suggests, our DT are from various countries with some from the US and last Sunday was their July 4th celebration and this gave them the option to incorporate it into their project if they so wished.

My Card

The base card is 6 inches square card stock.  All dies are from John Next Door. The main dies are Oundle,  the flowers and leaves  are Small Flowers and Small Leaves and the sentiment die is Stencil Sayings which was cut into the centre Oundle die. The red, white and blue striped paper was a scrap left over from another project and I had just enough to cut into four squares and change orientation of each square.

Take care.

Animals/Birds at MAWTT

Good morning.  I hope you have been enjoying the beautiful weather the past three days  if you live in the UK .  March did what it's supposed to do coming in like lion and going out like a lamb.

We have another challenge for you today at MAWTT and it is to show birds or animals on your card.

My Card

I used a fox on a Christmas card which makes a nice change. The paper and topper are from the Paper Boutique's "A Whisper of Winter.". The pine cones are from John Next Door.

Why not pop across to the blog and see what my teamies have made for this challenge.

I can't believe just  how quickly time is passing. The whole of lockdown seems to have gone by so  fast - although my brother disagrees with me on that point. If people behave themselves than we can continue to take steps in ending the lockdown slowly but surely, so fingers crossed.

Take care.

Shaped Cards (no squares/rectangles) for IAAS

Good morning and it's time for another challenge at IAAS.  This time we don't want to see any square or rectangular cards so be adventurous.

If you are looking for my CCC card please scroll down to previous post.

My Card

I used two different sets of dies to make my card.  The larger dies are from Card Making Magic "Happy Birthday Decorative Word" set.  The smaller ones are from John Next Door "Stamford" set and they coordinate really well. The patterned paper is LOTV/Nitwit Petal Fresh pad. The sentiment stamp is from the Notwit "Bloom With Grace" collection.

Why not popover to the blog and check out what the rest of the DT have made from this interesting challenge?

It is extremely cold here this morning but it promises to improve over the week so fingers crossed.

Take care.

Christmas Card Club Challenge Christmas Flowers and Foliage

Good morning on a day that's looking better than the last few; no wind anyway which is a blessing. Zoe has chosen our theme of Christmas Flowers and foliage.

My Card

I used a .5"x7" white card base. Crafters Companion Sparkling Trellis die. The rest of the dies are all from John Next Door - Poinsettia, Christmas Elements and Festive Swirl Sentiments. I mostly used up scraps of cardstock that I had left over in my box.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

The Natural World at Christmas for IAAS

Good morning and I'm here with my DT card for IAAS where the challenge is "The Natural World at Christmas - but no robins".

If you are looking for my Christmas Card Club entry then please scroll down to previous post.

My Project

This is a lantern made from John Next Door's large lantern die. I don't have this die but a friend of a friend very kindly die cut a number of lanterns for me. Our WI craft group was asked to decorate the windows of the Village Tea Rooms at Christmas and so I did some of these lanterns as my contribution.  Unfortunately I didn't take pictures before we set it up - then lock down came into effect and we  were unable to retrieve our projects. - until a couple of weeks ago. We have now been asked to do an Easter display too.

I decided that trees, deer, flowers, foliage and snow definitely fit the bill for the natural world at Christmas. Why not pop across to the blog and take a look at what my teamies have made and maybe join in our challenge.  We are a Just for Fun challenge so no prizes on offer I'm afraid.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Take care.
