It's Movie Week at IAAS

Hazel is our host at IAAS this week and she has invited us all to the movies!  Okay, well not quite but she has asked us to make a card based on a movie - or film as we Brits would say. Mycard is based on "The Sound of Music".  I first saw this on stage at The Palace Theatre in London when I was about 15 or 16 years old and have seen the film too many times to count.   I just love it.

I almost didn't get this card finished in time because my Grand Calibur gave up the ghost.  Thankfully John came to the rescue; he took it apart and solved the problem.  I do still have my Cuttlebug but it's no good for my bigger dies obviously

My Card

Recipe
7" base card - Anna Marie Designs
linen card stock - Hobbycrafts
green  card - Hunkydory
sentiment die - Apple Blossom
music die - Memory Box
Twisting veranda die - Tonic

This card actually looks much better in real life.  I wanted it to look "clean" but in the picture it looks quite bare.  It's difficult to see that the background is linen card stock so you'll have to take my word for it.  It might have been better to use an embossed background but I didn't want it to be too busy. Anyway, it is what it is.

The Offray ribbon is so pretty with the silver running through it and I was lucky enough to find some colour coordinated gems in my stash. The little satin padded heart is also from my stash.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out which movies my teamies have chosen?

Take care.

Something Cute For Christmas Card Club

Good morning.  Sylvie is our host this time for our little Christmas Card Club and she has chosen something cute as her theme.

My Card

Recipe
6"base card - Rymans
papers - Contemporary Christmas Crafter's Companion
white card - Rymans
topper - Hobby House
Noble pierced squares - Sue Wilson
pearls - from stash

A nice and easy challenge from Sylvie this time and I kept my card simple too. This topper has been in my drawer for an awful long time.  I bought a few sheets of toppers at a craft show.  They are all Mo Manning images on toppers from the Hobby House and they really are cute.

A very quick post today but i hipe it finds youwell.

Take care.

Have a Heart For MAWTT

Good morning and I hope this finds you well.  It is jolly cold here but it is winter so I should expect it.

I have changed to Team B on MAWTT and that is why I am posting another card only two weeks after the last one instead of the usual four.  I really must say thanks to Wendy, our leader, because it made quite a bit of work for her with all the changes needing to be made to the blogs.

Donna is our host this time and, as you can see from my blog title, she wants to see at least one heart on your project and it must be seen easily.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" base card - linen card as below
white card - Hobbycraft linen card stock
navy card stock - from stash
sentiment - computer generated
heart ribbon die - Memory Box

It was our wedding anniversary the week before Christmas but there was  so much going on that I nearly wasn't able to make John a card. This a style I have previously used for a condolence card but with a different sentiment and die it works well for anniversary too. The blue hearts were the remains of the die cutting and I attached the third and  largest heart to the insert with another sentiment.

Please pop over to the blog and check out the lovely offerings from my team mates.

That's all from me today.

Take care.

New Year Card

Good morning.  I had rather a sad and stressful few weeks coming up to Christmas and some of my Christmas cards just didn't make it to the post office I'm afraid. On the plus side it does mean that I am ahead on cards for Christmas 2019!  During the week between Christmas and New Year I made a couple of New Year cards for some friends who live a long way from us and whom we rarely see.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card - Hobbycraft card stock
silver mirri and silver glitter card - Crafter's Companion
number dies - Spellbinders
large pennant die - The Works
small stitched pennant die - Sue Wilson
star die -  Spellbinders
navy/silver spotted paper - Crafter's Companion "Decorative Christmas"pad
white ribbed card - Jelly Bean Crafts
sentiment - computer generated

I wanted to extend the large pennant so I die cut it twice in the two mediums and joined them behind the sentiment pennant.  This card came together so easily.  I knew in my mind exactly what I wanted to achieve - and it came out just as I had envisioned for once.

It was very difficult to photograph because the light was so bad. The spotted paper really is gorgeous in real life. The numbers look black but are in fact navy.  All in all it looks so much better than the picture shows.

Well that's it from me today.  Have a good day.

Take care.

Cats or Dogs at IAAS

Well, this is quite a start to the New Year four cards in a row!! Today is my DT card for International Art and Soul where Jane chose the theme.

Please scroll down to my previous post if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card.

Recipe
5" x 7" base card - blue leather effect card from stash
red card - Rymans

pearls from stash

Yet another CAS card.  I computer generated the sentiment and border of stars to match the party dogs cool glasses. I just couldn't resist this image; it really made me smile.

Why not click on the link and find out what my teamies have decided to do with their cats and dogs.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Snowflakes for Christmas Card Club

Good morning. The ladies in our Christmas Card Club will be publishing their first card of the year tomorrow.  We make a Christmas card every two weeks and post it on our own blogs.  This is not a challenge just a way of getting ahead with our cards so we are not panicking as Christmas approaches.  If you would like to join us you can contact our leader Margaret (Duchess). I post my card a day early because I post a DT card on the Sunday. We take turns to choose the theme and my choice for this first post of the year is to use snowflakes on your card.

My Card

Recipe
7" square base card - Anne Marie Designs
teal pearlescent card - Jelly Bean Crafts
teal non shed glitter card - Hobbycrafts
embossing Folder - John Next Door
sentiment die - Sue Wilson
large snowflake - Create a Flake -Spellbinders
other snowflakes - The Works dies

I made a real flurry of snowflakes on my card; quite a snowstorm in fact!  There are snowflakes all over the embossed background, in the sentiment die and a flurry of mixed dies in the corner.

If you would like to see what the other club members have made you will find their details in my side bar.

It is only January 5th and I have already made two Christmas cards so I'm ahead of my target ... lol! Here's hoping I keep it up because I have decided to make at least one Christmas card every week.

I hope you all have a good weekend.

Take care.

Winter Wonderland Challenge - It's Snow Time

Good morning.  I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.  I took a total break from blogging but now I'm back.

Welcome to the first challenge of 2019 at Winter Wonderland. We now have a new format.  The two teams have now combined into one and we will be posting monthly in future on the first Friday of the month. Our first challenge is sponsored by Beccy Muir at Beccy's Place and the theme is It's Snow Time and Kath would like to see snowmen or snow flakes on your cards. I am using one of the images from Snow Folk set.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card - using Hobbycraft cardstock
Holly Jolly Music Border die - Yvonnes Creations
Promarkers to colour.

I decided to make a CAS  card and so printed the digital image directly onto the card stock before cutting and folding the card to size. I also computer generated  the sentiment above and below the image. I then attached the die cut image and added a little glitter and that was it. Simple, I think, but quite effective.  I think the centre snow person looks rather cross and the one on the right looks as if he's had a drink or two ... lol! Maybe that's why she's cross!

Why not pop over to the blog and see what my team mates have come up with.  You could win a prize from Beccy's Place.

Well that's all from me today.

Take care.

Music, Music, Music at MAWTT

Good morning and Happy New Year to you all.  After a bad few weeks at the end of the year I took a complete break from card making and blogging for the past few weeks but now I'm back - hopefully refreshed!!

This my first card of the new Year. At MAWTT Carole is our host this time and her theme is "Music, Music, Music".

My Card

Recipe
4" x 6" base card
grey cardstock from stash
white linen card stock - a scrap from stash
birds on a wire die - Spellbinders
computer generated sentiment

A simple CAS card but I do like the clean lines. I find CAS cards hard to make because I always want to add more.  I am going to be making more until I get to the point where I know when to stop ... lol!

Please pop over and check out the DT's cards on the blog.

Take care.
